We celebrate the grand reopening of the Clark Park Community Garden by highlighting Sun Produce’s Farm Bag program as well as the many community growing spaces, workshops, and children’s activities organized by Tempe’s valued local volunteers and community leaders. Farm Bag Program

Here we follow some of the volunteers and customers at Clark Park as they participate in the operation of Sun Produce’s very own Farm Bag Program, which distributes locally grown agricultural products to subscribers within the community every two weeks. Here at the Co-Op, we consider connecting people to their community of Arizona-based producers to be key in forming a healthier, more sustainable food environment for all.

David Schwake Memorial Scholarship

The David Schwake Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor the work of the late David Schwake, MS, RD, SNS, and create an on-going legacy in his name. David Schwake passed away in February 2021 from COVID 19. A caring and determined man with tireless energy, David encapsulated what it meant to bring community, connection and impact all together through the many facets of his involvement in and service to the community. He demonstrated in his everyday actions the variety of career paths Dietetic Interns can aspire to.  Leading and feeding people with humor, persistent drive, innovation, a can-do, make it happen attitude, faith and passion, he had a strong and positive impact on anyone and everyone he came in contact with.
